Impacts of Global Warming On Our Planet
It is no secret that global warming is creeping up on us. So what is Global Warming anyways. Basically it is the rise of temperatures of Earth`s near surface air, and oceans. According to studies the impacts of global warming could be disastrous for certain areas of the world. The impacts will happen worldwide of course, but the impacts will be worse in certain areas.
Global warming is due in large part to human activity. The impacts of humans polluting the air and oceans is obvious. Just look out the window on a hot day near any city and you will undoubtedly see smog over the city.
The air isn`t the only thing that is getting more and more polluted. The impacts on our oceans has also been dramatic. The number of pieces of plastic in the oceans is incredible. The main reason the temperatures of the oceans will rise though, is of course because of glaciers melting. The oceans are getting warmer and more acidic, while the amount of oxygen is decreasing, due to increased absorption of atmospheric carbon dioxide.
The impacts of using fossil fuels on our oceans, is that the oceans soak up much of the carbon dioxide. There is a delayed amount of time in the absorption of carbon dioxide by oceans, the impact of past carbon emissions are not yet fully apparent. Estimates are that the impacts of fossil fuel usage on our oceans will be disastrous.
Studies have been done on how long it will take for the Earth to regenerate to a healthy state, once humans are gone from the Earth. If humans were gone from the Earth, due to the impacts of global warming, and pollution, it would take one million years for the Earth to become 100% healthy again.
This fact makes global warming a real topic and a real problem. Tackling the global warming crisis won`t be easy, however many scientists think it can be slowed down if certain measures are taken.
The instrumental temperature record shows global warming of around 0.6 degrees celsius over the entire 20th century. The future level of global warming is uncertain at this point, but a wide range of estimates have been made.
Climate models suggest future warming of 1.1 to 6.4 degrees celsius by the end of the 21st century. If temperatures
were to rise that much, the impacts of global warming would be disastrous. Something must be done
to lower these projections, something must be done to stop global warming.
This website goes deep into the facts about global warming. The effects of global warming, the impacts global warming will have on humans, plants, animals, and all living creatures.
Many people believe that global warming is a hoax created by some, to make incredible amounts of money. We will take a good look at these claims and we will get to the bottom of the global warming hoax theory.
Another impact that global warming has on our planet, is climate change. Many people are now saying that we are having wacky weather. People are also saying that it is climate change due to global warming. We will investigate further into these claims to see if global warming and it`s impacts really are disturbing our climates around the world.
